GENENCARE™

GENENCARE™

by Antoinette Barnardo 15 Jan 2020

Derived from Sugar Beet (Beta Vulgaris) otherwise known as Betaine or Trimethylglycine, it is a small amino acid derivative, which is naturally present in the cells of living organisms (plants and animals) and it occurs in the human body, especially in the skin. It is hydrophilic making it readily soluble in water for active transportation in and out of skin cells. It controls water balance, has a protein stabilising effect and is used as a skin moisturiser (immediate and longer term) and reinforces the skin's barrier.

GENENCARE™ plays a crucial role in the epidermis cohesion and skin’s barrier function and prevents the penetration of harmful substances such as allergens and pollutants into skin by increasing tight junction integrity in epidermal keratinocytes and decreases transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and keeps skin hydrated for a longer period of time while reducing the potential for skin irritation.
